The people can already tell what song it is and their foot automatically begin to tap to the rhythm. The group of people at the far side of the stage suddenly stop their conversations as they begin to listen to the opening tune. The whole place goes quiet as if the volume was slowly turned down while the lights seem to dim leaving only the spotlight on the band. The guitars enter on cue. They begin to add a slow and mellow strumming to the steady beat. The four guys seated around a table about 2 meters away to my left start to nod their head to the rhythm and their eyes follow the guitarists hands as it goes back and forth on the fretboard. The bass joins in with its deep rhythmic melody that is barely audible over the sounds of the other guitars and the drums. The female vocalist is on stage with her back turned to the audience. She sways slowly as she breathes deep into her lungs every note from each of the instruments around her. She turns around and her eyes are closed, looking like she is in a deep trance. Her grip tightens on the mic held at her waist. Her stance widens, her knees bend, the mic soars in a graceful arc to her mouth and she takes a deep breath, while the audience holds theirs.
